Setting Goals, Setting Achievable Objectives, Starting Your Plan.

The past two years have been filled with many demands on my time!  Demands to pack, unpack, prepare, plan, solve, clean, put away, teach, raise, etc.  I love setting goals and achieving them.  As I start a challenging goal that I have not spent enough time on, I am determined now to break this goal up into smaller, achievable pieces and tackle it.

I am writing a book about healing.  I had written about 10-20 pages and then lost it on my old computer as it died!  But, I used it as an opportunity to start anew.  Tonight I have broken the book up into chapters, Bible Study Leader Guide Questions, Verses, and an Introduction which I have already written.

I am committed to even possibly writing this book in a week.  5-10 pages each day.  I don’t know if that is possible.  But if I get up early and work on it after the kids are in bed, then I can knock out as many pages as possible.  The book will NOT be perfect or completely comprehensive, but it will be a snapshot of a vast subject, one in which I am most interested in.  I have thoughts about it all the time and as I prayed at the beginning of the summer, I got confirmation from God (through a radio broadcast) on the specific topic I wanted to write about. My goal was to finish it by the end of the summer, so I have until the end of September now.

I write this blog tonight to commit to my readers this plan I have set my mind to.  I also wonder if there are wonderful plans God has put in your heart to spend at least 30 minutes a day or maybe one session (2-3 hours) a week to do, be it a collage, knitting, sewing, cleaning, a project, working out…anything, break it up into something accomplishable for you at this time in your life, and DO IT!  You CAN truly do all things through Christ Who strengthens you.
