I love this song….and even more lately. Some days really feel like a battlefield in our home…where we are all fighting to keep the Joy we have in Jesus. God has brought forth much song, continually, in our home for all of us to stay focused on Him. He is putting a new song in one of our heads each day to sing to Him and stay focused on Him. When one of us starts singing, we all carry on with the song…it is so neat how singing about Him is so contagious…I love seeing and hearing that.
When this song came to me…I ran to get my hymn book, I only knew part of it…the kids and I memorized it together and we have been singing it all the time lately. As we sang, Lewis put up his cross with his fingers, raised them high, and led our march down our long hall in our home and around our table several times. I giggled as Hannah tried to figure out how to do her cross with her fingers…and sang this marching song with her soft, little voice. Lewis was focused. He was determined. He sang with all his heart and meant every word. He was our leader in the song, in the march. I saw a glimpse of the fierce love and determination God has given Lewis for Him.
This song helped us remember who’s banner goes before us, that the cross of Jesus goes on before us. He fights the battle for us. We need only to plug into Him…to stand Firm, and to Choose Him over and over…to RESIST and CHOOSE Christ.
