Another verse I found on the subject of teaching:
“Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” –James 3:1
One of the main things involved in teaching is words, and here is the reality about the tongue and the danger of words:
“The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.” –James 3:6
A few more verses on words I have read recently:
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” -James 1: 19-20
“If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.” -James 1: 26
This is what God considers worthy for me:
1) Do what the Word says and put my faith into action (James 1: 22-25; James 2:14-17)
2) “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” –James 1:27
