God has done a work in me! The other morning, I read some verses in Psalms that made me realize what a work He has done. God has transformed the desert for me from a place of temptation, spiritual attack, trial, longing, and grieving into a place of shelter. I see the beauty all around me of His creation. I am finding SHELTER in HIM and in the desert.
The psalmist (David) said:
“My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death assail me. Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me. I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest–I would flee far away and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.”
This is my place of shelter. God is my refuge wherever I am. But, here, the desert, far from the tempest and storm, is also my place of shelter. It is so quiet, so pristine, so beautiful to me. It is my wonderful place of rest.
