I think it’s a beautiful tune, but it could have been even more of a classic with dignified behavior. You can be flirtatious while dating, but you can still be moralistic and honorable.
Why believe the deception? Of course the lyrics are not morally strong. I turn it off in front of my kids when listening to Christmas music.
Slippery slope defenses don’t pass in my book. I just wish the songwriter could have changed the lyrics up a bit. Beautiful music, fun winter backdrop, less than ideal morals. Full stop.
